If you can’t get your controller to work normally in 《Sonic X Shadow Generations》, follow the troubleshooting steps below.

Despite the fact that the Steam page claims that 《Sonic X Shadow Generations》 natively supports PlayStation controllers, you still need to use Steam Input to register correctly. Ensure that Sonic X Shadow Generations is not running on Open-Steam and navigate to your Library. Right-click on 《Sonic X Shadow Generations》 and select Properties, then click on the Controller tab, and select Enable Steam Input.

After enabling Steam Input, it should work normally with any controller you insert. However, this is not ideal, as you need to use a different device, such as an Xbox controller or keyboard.

If your controller still doesn’t work after enabling Steam Input, ensure that Steam is detecting the controller you’ve inserted. To check the detected controller in the Steam client, go to Steam > Settings > Controller.
We hope that the developers will fix this controller issue with a patch shortly, possibly supporting PlayStation controllers, but it’s currently not enabled as the default button layout. Once Steam Input is enabled, everything should work as expected.
