Square Enix Unveils a New Batch of Exciting Manga Licenses!

Dragon Quest: The Mark of Erdrick

Last Saturday, at the New York Comic Con panel, Square Enix revealed a new manga license, Dragon Quest: The Mark of Erdrick, set to debut in September 2025. The series is written by Kawahara Chiaki and illustrated by Fujimura Kamui. The story takes place several years after the legendary hero Erdrick and his companions defeated the forces of evil. However, as the world begins to face new threats, Prince Arus, the descendant of Erdrick, sets out on a journey to defeat the darkness alongside his companions and friends!

Shinigami no Hanayome: Yomei Nanoka kara no Kōfuku

Another tantalizing announcement was Shinigami no Hanayome: Yomei Nanoka kara no Kōfuku, a manga series by Ichiiro Hakou. Scheduled for release in September 2025, this heartwarming tale follows the story of a young girl named Ivy, who is terminally ill and has a mysterious connection to the afterlife. The story explores the theme of love and happiness, even in the face of death and hardships.

Exquisite Blood: The Heretic Onmyoji

Square Enix also unveiled Exquisite Blood: The Heretic Onmyoji, a fantasy series by Fujimoto Sakura. Set to debut in August 2025, this thrilling adventure follows the story of a powerful onmyoji, who must navigate the boundaries between the human and demonic worlds, navigating a complex web of magic and politics.

Mechanical Buddy Universe

Get ready for a sci-fi romp with Mechanical Buddy Universe, a new manga series by Kato Takujii. Scheduled for release in September 2025, this collection of short stories explores the thrilling world of robots, androids, and artificial intelligence. Don’t miss out on this action-packed ride!

Holoearth Chronicles Side:E Yamato Phantasia

At the NYCC panel, Square Enix also revealed Holoearth Chronicles Side:E Yamato Phantasia, a new manga series by Kurose Kosuke, Kururugi Yo, and art by Kurose Kosuke. Set to debut in August 2025, this futuristic tale follows a group of friends as they navigate the world of advanced technology and virtual reality.

Soul Eater: Soul Art Encore! Artbook

Finally, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the beloved series, Square Enix is releasing Soul Eater: Soul Art Encore! Artbook, featuring the works of Ooikubo Atsushi. This limited-edition hardcover collection includes over 200 full-color illustrations from the series, as well as new artwork and covers.
