Throne and Liberty: How to Fix Controller Issues

Throne and Liberty, the latest MMORPG from Amazon Games and NCSOFT, has finally arrived on PC and consoles. As with any new game release, players may encounter technical issues, including controller problems. Fortunately, the game does support controller use on PC, and the interface can be partially controlled using some functions. However, controller issues may arise, and here’s how to fix them.

Fixing Controller Issues

To resolve controller issues, especially when playing with a PlayStation controller, disable Steam input. The game defaults to supporting this controller, but to fully utilize it, use a wired connection.

First, ensure Throne and Liberty is not running in offline mode. Click the right mouse button on the Steam icon in your Library, select Properties, and then navigate to the Controller tab. Under Disable Steam Input, select Ignore Throne and Liberty.

Using a Wired Connection

If you’re using a DualShock 4 or DualSense controller, make sure to use a wired connection. This will ensure the controller functions properly.

Note that DualSense Edge users may still need to use Steam input, as disabling it may not resolve issues.

Checking Detected Controllers

If your controller still doesn’t work, check if Steam is detecting the connected controller. To do this, go to Steam > Settings > Controller:

Here, you can see the detected controllers and adjust settings as needed.

Conclusion

Overall, it’s great to see a new MMO title properly supporting controller use on PC. While Throne and Liberty may not be in its optimal state, server issues are expected to be resolved within a few weeks.
