My Sweet Girl, which has gained popularity worldwide, follows the stories of ten high schoolers and their complicated relationships. The latest series, Kimi no Yokogao o Miteita, delves into the world of friendship and love once again. The story centers around a character named Hikari, who becomes fascinated with the romance between her classmates, Mari and Otani. As Otani’s eyes meet Hikari’s, a chain reaction of emotions ensues. But will she remain a loyal friend, or will her heart lead her in a different direction?

Ichinohe’s Inspiration

Ichinohe’s latest work has already captured the hearts of many, with the series’ 4th volume released on August 9th and the 1st volume published on September 15th. With its success, Kimi no Yokogao o Miteita has earned a nomination for the 48th Kodansha Manga Award. Ichinohe, known for her captivating storytelling, has already made a name for herself in the world of manga.

From "My Sweet Girl" to "Kimi no Yokogao o Miteita"

Ichinohe’s "My Sweet Girl" series, which began in Bessatsu Friend in 2015 and concluded in February 2021, was a groundbreaking work that explored the complexities of love and relationships. The 13th and final edition of the series was released on April 15th, 2021, and has been translated into English by Kodansha USA Publishing.
