At the recent Tokyo Game Show 2024, a special stage for Death Stranding 2 was held, revealing new characters, voice actors, and details about the upcoming game. Director Hideo Kojima took the stage to introduce the game’s Japanese voice cast, CG models, and the new single "Horizon Dreamer" by Three Lights.

Japanese Voice Cast and CG Models Unveiled

The event saw the announcement of the Japanese voice cast for the game’s characters. Sam, the protagonist, will be voiced by Tetsuya Tsujimoto, while other characters such as Tarma, Dollman, and Heartman have been cast with renowned voice actors.

New Single and Gameplay Footage Revealed

The special stage also featured the debut of the new single "Horizon Dreamer" by Three Lights, which will be released in Japan on Monday. The event showcased gameplay footage, including a video clip of the game’s Japanese version, which was also posted on the game’s English Twitter account.

Photomode and Release Date Confirmed

The game’s photomode was also revealed, allowing players to take screenshots of the game’s world. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is set to be released in 2025.

Notable Guest Characters and Collaborations

The game will feature notable guest characters, including Norman Reedus, Lea Seydoux, and Troy Baker. The game’s development has been influenced by the team’s work on the Hamster Stone Studio, a film production company that has worked on projects such as Barbarian, Bill, and Ted Face the Music.

Kojima’s New Project Announced

Director Hideo Kojima also announced a new project, titled "OD", which will be released in 2023. The project is a collaboration with Jordan Peele, director of Get Out, Us, and Nope.
